Today, my Momma is 91 years old.
I'm so glad I still have her, though she doesn't know where she is, or remember much of anything except things from long ago.
I AM thankful, though, that she knows who I am. Her face lights up when she sees me and she says...well, how did you know where to find me.
Alzheimers is such an ugly disease, but one day she will be whole. I don't look forward to losing her, but I do look forward to the day she is released from the prison of disease...confusion...a prison of a body which no longer works for her.
She only eats pureed food, but today she will have a cupcake mixed with ice cream. I did this last year also...I will cherish this today. She will be happy.
Happy 91st birthday, Momma.
