The following was written by Sebastian Blake.

Things I think when I see a girl who is dressed immodestly.
1 She wants attention. Immodesty at times reeks of desperation. In all the talks I have had with my brothers and other young christian men, being desperate has never once been viewed as attractive. As single guys, we want you to appreciate our attention, but we do not want you to stoop to the point where we have to look away from you when we talk.
2 She has no self value. She knows that she is indecent, but she just doesn't care. She is not very concerned about her reputation, to the point that she wears whatever with no thought of it. She does not place value on her God-given beauty, and is therefore viewed as cheap.
3 She cares too much about fashion. This world's system promotes adultery and fornication, and would like to dress all our young girls as lustfully as possible. Just since I can remember, the way the world dresses has gotten drastically worse. Im looking at you, Yoga Pants. Some church-going girls have followed suit with the world. It makes me think you love the world more than Jesus.
4 She has a feminist mindset. Beauty is its own form of power, and some girls relish that. She will never submit to her future husband, and their home will be miserable. Her kids confused about who the boss is. The focus of her home will not be Christ and His will, but her and hers. True Christian guys do not want this.
5 She is wicked in her heart. She wears what she does deliberately to provoke thoughts in guys that are immoral. This differs from #1 because she is looking for more than casual attention. Proverbs 7 talks of this girl.
6 She doesn't know any better. This probably is not the case as much as I hope that it is, but the part of me that sees the good in others can only hope. This girl was not raised under good preaching, and doesn't realize that immodesty is as serious as the Bible proclaims that it is. This girl will change when presented with truth.
Immodest girls "fall in love" with guys who tell them what they want to hear, and have miserable marriages because their home was built on sexual attraction or a baby bump. They are never secure, always jealous of people who may or may not be more attractive than them. They cling to their teen years when they are in their 30s or older. A modest girl does not have to be intimidated by other women, because she knows her future boyfriend/spouse does not love her for the skin she displays, but the contents of her heart.

  1. This is great...if only some young ladies could grab hold of this truth.
